I spent the better part of my 20s living in Tokyo, Japan. I stayed there for a year less than high school and college combined. My time in the country shaped me into the person I am now.

It is where I gave up alcohol and tobacco but is also where I indulged in both more than ever. It’s where I learned to do improv which I credit for making me an interesting person for the first time ever. Japan is where I discovered a love of photography along with the possibility that I might be good at it.

I left in early 2016 because I felt like I was missing something. After I came back I started studying computer science and I worked for the Hillary Clinton campaign in Charlotte, NC. The politics are harder than the programming. I try to keep up with both without having a stroke. It’s not easy.

Now that I’ve earned my certificate in Computer Programming and have a few political campaigns under my belt I’m still looking for ways to improve my skills and knowledge. I chose to get into Data Science because it’s only slightly over saturated at this point and hopefully I can hop on the gravy train before it skids off into the side of a mountain.
